Jason Glennon Crowell was born on February 3, 1972, in Cape Girardeau, where he continues to reside. He earned his B.S.B.A. in economics from Southeast Missouri State University in 1995. Jason earned his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law&nbsp;in 1998. 
Jason is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Jason concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, workers’ compensation and civil litigation, including personal injury and toxic torts. 
In November of 2000, Jason was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives by the people of Cape Girardeau County living in the 158th House District. Upon winning re-election to the House in 2002, Jason was elected to serve the chamber as majority floor leader, a legislative leadership position responsible for setting the agenda and bill order for floor debate. 
Jason was elected to serve Southeast Missouri’s 27th Senate District in November of 2004, representing Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Mississippi, Perry and Scott Counties. The youngest member of the Missouri Senate, Senator Crowell was appointed chairman of the Senate’s Pensions, Veterans’ Affairs and General Laws Committee at the start of the 93rd General Assembly – the only freshman senator to earn a committee chairmanship. Senator Crowell also serves as vice-chair of the Financial, Governmental Organizations and Elections Committee and is a member of the Gubernatorial Appointments Committee, the Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence Committee and the Economic Development, Tourism and Local Government Committee. 
Jason has received numerous awards of appreciation for his dedication and service, including the Missouri Bar’s Legislative Award, 2002 and 2003; St. Louis Business Journal Award, 2003; Missouri Association of Counties Legislative Award, 2004 and Missouri Supreme Court Award. Senator Crowell is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
