Mark R. Dunn graduated from Carleton College in 1980. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1991. While in law school, Mark was a member of the Wagner Labor Law Moot Court. He also served as a research assistant for Professor Roger C. Park and worked on Professor Park’s treatise entitled “Trial Objections Handbook.” Mark was the primary author of section 10.16, covering objections to comments on failure to call a witness, in the First Edition of the Trial Objections Handbook. 
Following graduation from law school, Mark joined the firm of Gibson, Dunn &amp; Crutcher as a general litigation associate in Dallas, Texas. In 2000, Mark joined the firm of Jones Day, also in Dallas, as a toxic tort and product liability litigator. While Mark was at Jones Day, the firm received the 2002 American Lawyer Litigation Department of the Year Award. In 2006, Mark relocated to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and joined the law firm of Osburn, Hine, Kuntze, Yates &amp; Murphy, L.L.C. 
Mark is licensed in Missouri and Texas, and has practiced before state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, California, and Texas, as well as before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mark has had significant experience in the defense of complex, multi-party, toxic tort and product liability cases, including multi-district and class-action claims. 
He has participated in the national defense of hundreds of cases against respiratory protection manufacturers in silica, coal dust, and asbestos litigation. Mark also has defended toxic tort claims involving alleged exposures to benzene and other chemicals. In addition, Mark has prosecuted numerous commercial claims, including hundreds of breach of contract claims in multi-district litigation, and he has prosecuted a number of personal injury claims for individual clients. 
Mark’s practice currently focuses on the defense of product liability, toxic tort, and medical negligence actions, as well as the prosecution and defense of personal injury and commercial claims. Clients for whom Mark has provided legal work in the past include: Occidental Chemical Company, OxyChem, American Airlines, Textron Inc., North Safety Products, Saint Gobain Abrasives, Norton Company, and U.S. Silica.
